We are excited as the gardening season in Greater Vancouver approaches. Blossoms and buzzing bees mean it is time to start planning for the months ahead. At Yard Surgeons, we’re looking forward to visiting local suppliers of native plant species.

One of the first places we'll visit is Coast Salish Plant Nursery in North Vancouver. We are fortunate to be so close and it is nice to be able stop by and gain knowledge from the folks there. Their native plants are well-suited to the local climate and help support pollinators and wildlife.

For our next stop, we plan to head further out to PlanBee Native Plants in Langley. Though it's farther, they’re known for their great selection of pollinator-friendly plants, so it’s worth the visit to see what’s what this year.

It is fun to get back out to look and speak with growers. Local suppliers bring native plants into our gardens, support local ecosystems and offer great options for the season ahead.
